ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY

Apex Design Build is a design build firm, specializing in private healthcare practices. Following design build methodology, we manage projects from early visioning and conceptual design stages, all the way through the architectural and construction phases. As a fully integrated firm, our successful Architecture group will work alongside the Apex Interior Design and Preconstruction teams.

We are currently seeking a dynamic Architectural Designer to support our rapidly growing organization. This role will work through complex projects in detailing and documenting intent as well as provide direct support to Apex’s Director of Architecture and Director of Design. You will be involved in many aspects of the project from the design development phase, permitting, construction documents, and bidding stages through to final project closeout.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setup and maintain project drawing files and standards (Revit)
  • Develop and complete construction & permit drawings
  • Develop progress drawings for client review, pricing, or internal technical review
  • Research available architectural and MEP products to fit with design intent
  • Assist with/lead permit drawing comment response
  • Assist with/lead construction document addenda based on subcontractor/Operations team direct input
  • Support Director of Architecture correspondence with consultants, subcontractors and vendors to gather data, communicate design requirements, and coordinate design, construction, and engineering documents.
  • Attend internal handover meetings from Design to Architecture, and from Architecture to Operations team.
  • Able to produce a full, coordinated set of CDs including Cover, Life Safety, Demolition, Architectural, FFE, Details, Schedules, and willing to learn basic MEP trades
  • Interface with Apex’s design team for clarification of design details and intent as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and scope of work.
  • Coordinate and update selected project materials, products, and fixtures.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Architecture firm or related office required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit or strong desire to learn required.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and a drive to excel.

PROJECT DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY

Apex Design Build is a commercial design build firm, specializing in private healthcare practices. Following design build methodology, we manage projects from early visioning and conceptual design stages, all the way through the architectural and construction phases. We are in the process of
establishing local market leadership and then scaling regionally.

We are currently seeking a dynamic Project Designer to support our rapidly growing organization. The Project Designer will help direct projects through conceptual design, design development, and participate as required through the architectural and construction phases, striving to achieve the Clients’ objectives. Responsibilities will include programming, conceptual design, design development, construction documents, furniture specification, and verification of design intent during project
execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate and lead in client consultations; establishing project goals and objectives including but not limited to programming questionnaire, design intent, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Positively work with team members and vendors offering creative input throughout project, including but not limited to construction documents, take offs, millwork drawings, punch list review, engineering documents, existing conditions surveys, and attend job site meetings as needed.
  • Develop designs, including but not limited to test fits, space planning, schemaƟc design, a color palette, conceptual sketches, conceptual ceiling and lighting plans, elevations, initial furniture and lighting inspirations, furniture and accessory specifications, and 3D Revit views

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years design experience.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Adobe InDesign soŌware.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving skills.

INTERIOR DESIGN/ARCHITECTURAL INTERN

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a dynamic INTERIOR DESIGN/ ARCHITECTURAL INTERN to support our rapidly growing organization. The interior design/architectural intern will assist the design and architectural teams in all aspects of the project from the early design through to final project closeout.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform design duties as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Collaborate with other Team Leaders as needed.
  • Assist with updating and organizing the materials library.
  • Assist in material and project research as required for project development.
  • Assist in preparation of presentations.
  • Support multi-disciplinary team in developing designs, schematic sketches/diagrams, and documentation drawings. Participate in the review of construction phase documentation.
  • Make updates and changes to existing drawings or designs using Revit.
  • Attend in-house project team meetings.
  • Perform administrative support and other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Interior Design or similar program OR Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree program in Architecture or Engineering; NAAB accredited program highly preferred
  • Minimum 0-2 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and details.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving skills.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to handle the creative function within our marketing team. As a vital part of our marketing team, you will be responsible for all graphic design, copy, photography, promotional assets and more. You are a creative force who can work across many teams, understand the nuances of daily project management, and illustrate concepts easily to all stakeholders to sell your ideas. From concept through execution, you will bring our brand to life.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the organization’s present and targeted future market position.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Business Development Teams to produce content marketing (blog, social media assets, and more) and other needs.
  • Oversee all graphic design and ensure its consistency with Apex’s brand guidelines across all marketing channels.
  • Bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.
  • Graphic design support with RFP responses, proposals, and team biographies.
  • Achieve the KPI’s used to measure the effectiveness of the role.
  • Manage all outside vendor/freelance partners related to graphic design.
  • Ensure that all graphic design assets and marketing pieces are in line with Brand Guidelines, as well as maintaining current brand with all internal documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • 1-3 years of experience in related field.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability inspire strategic creative development.
  • Highly knowledgeable of digital and traditional media, emerging trends, digital creative tools, and user experience.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new technologies.
